Project Description

Yesenia

Yesenia is the 4th sister in her family. She is 13 years old and currently in 9th grade of basic education and claims to be one of the best students. Throughout the workshop she participated a lot and proved to be a very intelligent, retentive and highly capable child.

While we were doing a walk to a place known as “La Cruz”, she told us that she has the great dream of studying and going to university to be a lawyer and then return to help women in her community so that women’s rights are respected , according to his opinion this does not happen in Angamarca.

“I want to study the laws, because in some cases men think they are more than women, they dimmiss, they hit them and I want those things to change …”

Yesenia is clear that her community has serious problems of abuse against women and that must change, is something she wants to achieve through education and self-improvement.

Without a doubt, this tender and intelligent girl deserves an opportunity to fulfill her dreams, deserves to obtain tools that allow her to know her ideas and transmit every day that she can make the change and achieve her goals; That is what Lucy in the Andes seeks to transmit to each of these women, we empower women…
